Biography

I was born on March the 9th, 1953, in the small town of Casselman, Ontario, Canada.

I started painting in 1987 and for the next seven years I studied art with different teachers. In 1995, my work was accepted and shown in the Ottawa art Gallery, latter renamed Echo-diffusart Gallery. For many years I was also a member of the Ottawa Valley Gallery in Hawkesbury. At one time, I taught oil painting for 2 years to a group of children aged 11-12.

Every year I participate in many local shows and I like to help my community through fund raising and donations.

Living in the country has given me an opportunity to develop a closeness with nature that I never dreamed existed. As I roam the contryside, I try to capture and understand the "essence" of every thing or animal that crosses my path. I love to paint old barns, houses, imagine their history, feel the memories hidden behind
their walls.

Beauty is often in the simplicity of things : the dew or frost on a spiderweb in the early morning, a bird on barbed wire or the color of oats ripening in the field. Country landscapes, wildlife and flowers are the main subjects of my art. In every painting, I feel that I leave behind a part of my soul. I paint what I love and respect.

I work in oils, acrylics and pastels.
